Thirty-three years a proud Barrie neighbour.
Born and raised in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Lori moved to Barrie at 18 to attend Georgian College, and never left. Thirty-three years later, she and her husband Giovanni have called Draper Crescent home for the past 15, along with their spoiled-but-sweet little dachshund, Ginger Rose. If you walk the waterfront trails in the evening, you've probably already met all three.
For 18 years Lori worked in customer service at Telus Mobility, where she was “one of the chief complaint-takers and solvers,” as she puts it, until being packaged out in 2025. Listening to people, untangling problems, and standing up for what's fair is simply second nature to her.
She's the neighbour out on the street chatting, running the group chat, snow-blowing driveways, giving rides, and volunteering: soup kitchens, blood donation, and runs for cancer and juvenile diabetes. “Barrie is a big city with a small-town feel,” she says. “The people here are kind, they look out for one another, and they work hard.”
